Ether Beetle!

How Did It Begin?

The Spark

The idea for Ether Beetle came to me during a time that I was going through a lot of personal and difficult changes in my life. These changes required me to seek a new way forward, A way that I have never gone before and a way that will hopefully allow me to find out who I am. I needed to find my spark again.

This spark, that I hope to find, will give me freedom through my art and lead me to the being I am meant to be. One who reawakens his love to learn and create, as well as transforms me into someone who will find freedom in this new life ahead of me.

The Symbology

I connected with fireflies because it felt like me in some part. A small whimsical light that wanders and weaves through the darkness trying to find its way. Making new discoveries, finding new paths, and occasionally helping others in the darkness. The vision gives me a sense of whimsy, mysteriousness, adventure, and a dash of hope.

The name “Ether Beetle” tells a story as well. Often times our ideas come from the void, carried into our waking world like a little firefly that traverses the ether, bobbing in and out of the darkness, brings back their sparks of inspiration. For me Ether Beetle embodies this exploration of the unknown that I am going through in life now.

The Vision

I want Ether Beetle to feel like a mysterious traveling merchant you might stumble upon in a dream. Filled with strange art, trinkets, and treasures from another realm. It’s a place where my art can take many forms: painting, drawing, sculpture, and whatever else my curiosity leads me toward.

My goal is to build a sustainable art life centered around creativity and freedom. I want to travel, meet people, share artwork, teach, explore different forms of creation and live a life that some may say is impossible.

The Meaning

Ether Beetle is about reclaiming and finding yourself after harsh life changes. About not being afraid of the unknown and being willing to explore and keep your sense of wonder despite the darkness. It’s deeply personal to me. It’s about rebuilding not just a career, but a life. one guided by creativity, freedom, and a sense of adventure.

The Future

So, what does the future hold for Ether Beetle? As of right now I am laying the foundation: building the website, preparing an art print club, starting to sell art at events, making project plans and just trying to outline directions to explore. I am gathering sparks and starting the journey.

If you have read this far, I want to thank you for being part of the beginning. I hope that there is much more to come!
